Hi All,

October FNSI....can you believe it?
Wow this calendar's on fast forward, I'm sure!
Probably because I've moved back home from living at Mum-in-law's house for the past 5 months and started a new job. Mum's doing well despite having a 'dicky knee' and I still pop around every couple of days to take her bins out, do her shopping and take her to appointments.
So sewing's taken a back seat, although I do try to do a little every day....for my sanity and everyone else's safety!!!
The internet is playing nice this month so I'll post a couple of pictures to show you what I've been up to!
I also managed to squeeze in a FMQ class in Townsville with Bev McClune. I can't recommend her highly enough...Her teaching style is just so easy, and she teaches to your level of experience. I even got to play on a Sweet Sixteen so I feel much more confident using mine now!
It's Friday Night Sew In this Friday so you can sign up below or on our Facebook Group page. If you're not a member yet just pop over and ask to join.... it's so easy, and you get to see what everyone's doing on Friday night as they're doing it! It's the best 'stay at home' party ever!!!
Our winner from last month will be very happy with their $30 voucher from Kitty Rose Cottage I'm sure! Tilda's 'Hibernation' range is now out so maybe you could put your winnings towards that?
It's just adorable with it's little sleepy squirrels and fall inspired colour palette!!!!
Well the Wheel has spoken and our lucky winner for September is:........
Congratulations Karen...if you could swing me a PM with your email address, I'll pass it on to Dawn to get your prize to you!
I"m about to go off to work so good luck and fingers crossed for Friday!
Big sugary hugs

Our September Sign Ups for FNSI.....a frustrating exercise!
I have been trying to get this post up since Tuesday but both Tuesday and Wednesday, we've had issues with our internet'(thanks internet company!!!) and today it's working and now Microsoft have decided to update their photo app and it's taking f-o-r-e-v-e-r to upload my photos from my phone to the computer!!!! Neither can I access any pages on the internet, even though it's working. What have they done??? Aaargh....when did technology become so hard!?
Unfortunately that means this post is going to be very dull with no pictures....snooze fest....as I had lots to show you. My computer says minimum 4 hours uploading my photos.......you do NOT want to know what thoughts are spinning around in my head! **EDIT Managed to get two photos up....not pushing my luck with any more! xx
So, to make it easy I'll just draw a winner from our last month's FNSI and you'll just need to trust me on the draw as I can't show you.The winner of the August FNSI is going to win a $30 voucher to spend at Kitty Rose Cottage and there is so much to choose from. I'm loving the new Tilda range "Hibernation" with the cute little slumbering mice and the Autumn blooms. I've had to go 'old school' and draw the winner our of a bucket!
Congratulations this month goes to JEANETTE GRAHAM!!!!! I hope you have lots of fun choosing your prize!
I've managed to get Mr Linky working so you can at least sign up for our get together this Friday night and I'll have the Facebook group page as a backup for sign ups, as I normally do, so whichever way suits you....we'll be there! I am looking forward to stitching tomorrow with you all to relieve all this stress this computer business is giving me!!!!
Remember, sitting down at your sewing machine can turn a so-so day into a sew-sew day!
happy stitching and big sugary hugs

August FNSI sign ups and a winner or two
I nearly slipped up....who would have thunk that this week was week 3 of the month....already?????
Last month I was early and eager, this month it feels like FNSI was only a week ago! I'm sure this year has faster skates on than last year!
Anyhoo......we must do some draws, but not before I show you a couple of my 'finishes'!
This will become a cushion and I must admit, I have unpicked the wording stitching as I didn't like the thread colour and have restitched it in a lavender which looks lovely. Next in line for a finish.I love this pencil case....I think I'll use it for my sewing bits and bobs! Added some additional buttons as I can't get my suffolk puffs tight enough to look neat! A quick cover up!!!
This one's been on the pile for a long time (as you can see) but I finally pulled it out and finished it to flimsy stage....next job is quilting it! Really love this one....... it has bunnies!!!
And I could not have done it without my two budding helpers!!!! Never far away!

What I've been up to and July FNSI sign ups
The last two months have whizzed by. I haven't lived in my own home but been staying as a carer with my mother in law and popping home daily to check on things since she returned from her rehab in the SEQ. Between doctors appointments, physio, chiro, specialists and exercise classes there's not much time left to get much done! She's doing well, by the way and looking good....the cat (Missy) is so happy to have her home and she's feeling much better after her heart attack earlier this year. She's back into her cooking (which is her happy place) but resting lots more.
She's not doing too badly for an 84 year old who's never been 'really' sick. It's only been in the last year or so that she's started to take any tablets for anything other than panadol so she's done pretty well considering.
Consequently, I haven't got much done in the way of sewing....I've a few hand projects I've been working on getting done, or at least getting the hand stitching parts of projects done so I'm progressing slowly.....just nothing on the machine for now.
Even Moccha approves!!!So, I talked to Mr Linky and checked with our Facebook Group Leader (me!!) and added a whole lotta names in the Wheel for May....(there were 40 of you.....I think that's our record so far...it's awesome having so many like minded stitchers join in) .......and remember I said there'd be TWO winners for May as it was my birthday month?
Well the first of our two lucky winners, who will receive our regular monthly prize of a $30 voucher donated by the lovely Dawn of Kitty Rose Cottage, is........
Congratulations to you Colleen Dunn.....you've won yourself a $30 voucher to spend at Kitty Rose Cottage on whatever your heart desires! what a way to start the term!!!!
Now it's time to get ourselves sorted for this week's FNSI.....
Sign ups are below or on our Facebook Group page. I'm looking forward to stitching with you all. Have a wonderful week...back at school for Queenslanders too.....can't wait for Friday!
Big sugary hugs xox :o)
