Back to reality
It’s taken a couple of days to come back down to earth after our ‘holiday’ (well, DS’s [Nick’s] 18th birthday celebrations) at Jupiters Casino in Townsville. Our room was amazing…..up on the 17th floor, with almost 360 degree views of the city….we felt like celebrities! We watched the ships come in to port…. people splashing around in the pool…. including Bloss, who’d stayed with us for the celebrations..(that’s Nick’s little half-sister with her!) we watched the boats sailing over to Magnetic Island… and just contemplated on which boat in the marina we’d like to take home with us!!!! We had a wonderful dinner with some of Nick’s closest friends and family to celebrate his 18th at the Kobe restaurant…..YUMMO!!!! ..which ended with this magnificent Chocolate Mud Cake….decadent!!!!! here’s Nick and his beautiful girlfriend….. we oohed and aaahed over the night lights of Townsville…. and even contemplated a midnight dip in the pool…it was very inviting…. (but we didn’t!!! ) We awoke to a rumble which we had to investigate….. ..it was the Red Baron, taking joy flights over Townsville….can you see it in the distance??? about 20 minutes later, we raced around to the other side of the room to watch it come in to land….. How much fun would that be??? And I couldn’t go away without taking some stitchery….so I took a new project…..a preprinted sashiko panel I’ve been dying to try out… Here’s one of the blocks done….. I just couldn’t go a whole weekend without my stitching!!!!!! I think I’m only just coming back to earth from an exciting weekend, and I’m sure it’s one Nick will remember forever…. but it’s back to reality for me…..there’s a MOUNTAIN of washing to be done! sugary hugs
