How gorgeous are these colours???? I think I want to do more!!!!!!
My Aiming for Accuracy Quilt-a-Long is going well too…….as Forrest Gump states……. “picking colours is like a box of chocolates…….you never know what you going git!?”
Well….maybe he didn’t mean it quite in this context, but don’t you find when you pick colours for a quilt, it can be the most challenging part????
But I think these chocolates are my favourites…….for this quilt top anyway……
The last 2 pictures show the quilt top as it will look when it’s pieced together…..top, middle,(picture 1) bottom (picture 2)….. that’s lesson 16 which will be done this week. I’ve been loving this process of Aiming for Accuracy. It’s not too late to start if you’re thinking of it……all the weekly lessons are available FREE on Michelle’s website “Quilting Gallery” and you’ll find the link on my sidebar. But make sure you do so before the end of the lessons, because after that, you’ll have to buy the pattern!
Have a great Tuesday
Sugary hugs :o) xox

ReplyDeleteThey turned out so pretty Wendy! As you say, a bigger 'bath' while the dye takes to the fabric could be a good experiment too.
ReplyDeleteYour A4A is coming along so well - love your colour choices, I am hopeless with that aspect of things! x
Looovvvveee your fabrics, all those yummy colours. Gorgeous.

Your fabrics have turned out really beautiful. I love the way your colours shade and the mottled look - I have a real aversion to solid colour! but that is me. The quilt is coming along really well - I have recommended it to a couple of friends.

Gorgeous dyed fabrics....
ReplyDeleteI do like the fabrics you used for your A4A..
Have put mine together and put on a plain border. Can't wait to see all the finished flimsys..
Gorgeous colors. I can see how it could become addictive if you do it in classes. =) Your accuracy quilt is really interesting and appealing. I love messing around in the colors, but since I mostly scrap quilt, I don't do a lot of picking particular fabrics. I initially pick things when I buy fqs for the stash, of course, but I find I'm using that stuff less, and I keep filling scrap baskets that never empty! The fabric for those is mostly donations for the causes for whom I make tops.
ReplyDeleteThose colours look great and can't wait to see what you use them in.
ReplyDeleteThe fabrics have turned out so pretty. I love that A4A quilt.. I am sure you learnt heaps as well.
