FNSI Winner

Thank you to everyone for their wonderful words of encouragement and well-wishes….it has meant the world to us and dad’s progress is onward and upward!  Just know I’ve read  every comment and I appreciate each and every one of them….please excuse me if I haven’t responded…..I will try to, but know my heart is bursting with the love you’re sending us!!!  THANK YOU, THANK YOU, THANK YOU, just doesn’t seem enough! Dad has two drains in his abscess which wont go until the cavity of the abscess shrinks, and a scar about 12 inches long around his torso.  But he’s off his red button for self administered pain relief now and only has tablets when he needs it.  The number of tubes going in and out of him is reducing and he’s actually up and out of bed for his meals and even walking a short distance every day.  The doctor tells us he will remain in hospital for 2 weeks to a month depending on his progress. Hubby’s sisters have arrived from down south and have given us a few days to return home to make sure the house hasn’t burnt down and to see our boy…..we’d almost forgotten what he looked like!!   He’s been sick with the flu too, so couldn’t come up to see his Nonno!!!!! It has been difficult without good computer access……it’s amazing how much you DONT realise how much you rely on technology and although the IPhone is good, and the tablet is good…….it just doesn’t cut the mustard when it comes to writing a post so excuse me if I’m babbling but at the moment I feel like I’ve just been let loose in a candy store!!!!!!! candy border Well, I better show you what I’ve been up to since I’ve been stuck at the hospital for the past 3 weeks….. 085 (Medium)087 (Medium) ….I’ve been working on a new project I’ve designed for Patchwork and Stitching, involving quite a few hexies and some stitchery on linen…. 088 (Medium) some more blocks in my Quilty Sampler Stitch Along 089 (Medium) I finished the stitchery part of Vicki’s Autumn Rose Table Runner 090 (Medium) and did some more stitching on my ‘The Street’ by Smee Designs 091 (Medium) I really like the foils in her hair in this block!!! 092 (Medium) and funnily enough, it’s at Jenny’s hairdressing store!!!!! lol 093 (Medium) Grandma, in her pink fluffy slippers and fashionably matching pink handbag, is finished too…. but there’s still lots to do………without a machine for 3 weeks, I’ve been in withdrawal….guess what I’ve been doing!!!! LOL So sorry about the late posting of our FNSI winner…..I was a little distracted!!!!!!    We had 48 of us sewing together on Friday night…….. I was working on my Quilty Stitches cross stitch sampler at the hospital and if you visit my last post, you can visit all the links to everyone who joined in to see what they got up to! Mr RNG helped out again in drawing the winner (he’s so good at being ‘random’!) and he picked….. 14.04.18 winner who is…….. Vicki from the UK and the prize is even a surprise to me! Congratulations Vicki………I’m sure you’ll love it, whatever it is!!!!! I know that sounds weird, but my wonderful friend Marilyn has offered to host the prize for this month whilst I’ve been away……she is just adorable and such a sweety……make sure you pop on over to her blog and look at all her lovelies.  She’s a new designer too……I’ve showed you my sewing bag that I got that she designed and her patterns have been selling like hotcakes.  photo courtesy of:  http://mardimeanderings.blogspot.com.au/ here she is with the bigger version.  You can link to her and buy the pattern too…..I absolutely LOOOOVE mine and use it all the time!  there’s mine, on the left in the picture below! photo courtesy of:  http://mardimeanderings.blogspot.com.au/ Babbling enough……I’m off to do something with those hexies…….I’m on a deadline!!!!!  Sugary hugs :o) xox my signature

FNSI...lets try again!

Sorry about the delay....but aren't internet kiosks a wonderful invention when you're away from home!?!
Here is the link for Friday night, which I've only just realised is Good Friday!!!...woohoo....there'll have to be an extra special Easter prize for this one!!!!
And...an update on Dad......he came out of the surgery well......it seems he had an infection in the muscle around his abdomen and that's all we know at this stage but he's a trooper and after spending a night in ICU, he's out and about in the wards, giving us cheek, so he's feeling much better......thank goodness for those red buttons that release his pain killers!!!! And thanks to everyone for their lovely wishes, prayers, comments and blessings....they mean the world to us...it has been quite a stressful time and althought we're not out of the woods yet, we're over the first hurdle!!! Thank God!
So join with me on Friday night to celebrate Easter and all things wonderful....I know I'm giving thanks...and plenty of it!

FNSI

Yes it's that time of the month and I haven't forgotten but having been at the hospital for two weeks straight and being away from home in motels, I'm a bit lost as to what day it is!!!

News update is.... FIL is in surgery at this very moment to clear out the abscess that's settled in between his kidney/bladder/spine area and try to find out what's causing it to keep flaring up, despite the heavy antibiotics that he's been on. We should have more details in the morning....I know this is going to be one heck of a long night so I really do appreciate all your prayers, wishes and lovely thoughts and comments.   They're helping us get through a pretty rough time.

So....trying to keep some normality as best we can.... This Friday is still FNSI.  I'd love for you to join with me.... Not sure what the prize will be yet and don't know when I'll be home to post it but there will be one!! I know you'll be patient with me!

So, sign ups are coming....get yourselves prepared to link up your blogs up .... I can't add Mr Linky on my phone but I'll get hold of a computer and add it tomorrow.  When I do you can add your link and we'll all come visiting over the weekend to see what you got up to on Friday night.

Hope you understand??!?

The Important Things in Life.

Life throws you curve balls sometimes and this week we were thrown a fast one.  Dad (hubby's father) has been getting sick lately, which is just not like him....(he's an ox!!) and this week, after a doctors visit and some scans, he got a call to come back in and talk to him.
Yes...the 'C' word was mentioned but not before another complication of an abscess on the spine!!! That evening we rushed him to hospital and we have been here ever since!

They've drained the abcess....the cancer will be addressed at a date down the track...soon, but not until the infection is gone.  Needless to say, I've been offline this week!
Good news though is dad's much better now the abcess is drained (although he'll need to get it drained again on Monday), and the cancer in his kidney is ok for now and can wait till he's better....We are being looked after and watched over, that's for sure!

So please forgive my absence but I've been a little preoccupied,  but not idle!! I've been working on a new secret project which is hidden in my favorite craft caddy.....

...designed by my good friend and fellow designer, Marilyn of Mardi Meandering. If you pop on over to her blog, you'll be able to see some of her fabulous designs.

This poem from Bonnie Hunter really brought me comfort this week....a bit of a giggle but also reassurance and a reality check of what's really important !
