An Olde World kinda Sunday
It’s been a cool and miserable weekend…..the perfect kind for quilting, which I’m thrilled about. We rarely get cool, wet weather, it’s usually either cool or wet but rarely both…..I guess that’s what you get living in the tropics? But this weekend has been perfect for working on a new quilt for a friend’s wedding in a couple of weeks…… I’m using an old favourite with an olde world charm……Old Primrose Inn, by Blackbird Designs for Moda….I’ve been saving it for something ‘special’ and when I asked what the couple’s favourite colours were, they mentioned they liked ‘traditional’ and classy styles but a touch of modern…..browns were good …….and I was sort of left open with the decision. I checked in my stash and found quite a bit of ‘ye olde’ faithful sitting there begging, “Pick me, pick me”….how could I resist!? I think it will fit the bill perfectly, don’t you? I think I could snuggle up with it, so if they don’t like it they can always give it back?? (I’ll even stitch a ‘return to sender’ label with my address….just in case!) so…..what are you up to this weekend? Hope you’re all snuggly and surrounded by olde world charm too. Sugary hugs xox

Hi.....thanks for visiting and I'm glad you've stopped by to visit and leave me a comment. I'll try to reply each time, but if I don't, it's because I've been hijacked by the family.....know I've read it and it reeeeally warms my heart. *insert jiggly heart here*

ReplyDeleteIt is a beautiful sunny winters day here and sew nice to be home after two weeks in Perth.
Am going for a walk soon and then home to sew.
Happy stitching.
Yummy fabrics......cold, wet here perfect weather for sewing...
ReplyDeleteThose fabrics look gorgeous. Summer has arrived here in France and with a vengeance as we have had a week of temperatures over 30. Today however we are back to the low 20's which is perfect for me. I am going to be dying some fabric in the sunshine. xx
ReplyDeleteA great choice Wendy. I'm sure they will love it. I've been to my Sunday Stitcher's group today, had a wonderful time. hugs.....
ReplyDeleteLove all those fabrics together - it will make a wonderful wedding quilt. I was at at the same place as Noe3ls - we were both having fun!! (sewing of course)
ReplyDeleteThose fabrics are beautiful Wendy. I'm sure your friends will love a quilt made from them. What a special gift. Cheers, Tracy
ReplyDeleteLovely fabrics. Blackbird designs are always gorgeous. Not impressed with the weather. We come to cairns to visit relatives most years this time of year and to arrive and find the lagoon closed and this weather, well we need to make the most of it somehow. Loads to do it just costs money. Hope to see some sunshine before we leave. Last. Year was 28 every day so can't really complain.
ReplyDeletejust love Old Primrose Inn - it was my first layer cake I ever bought! :)
