I finished all the needleturn on Friday night on this li’l baby..

and had planned to go further, but a full-on day at work (and one teeny glass of vino) put rest to that idea

The blue markings you can see are my frixion pen…I use it to ‘place’ my needleturn on the main block as I stitch it down.  I love the way you can just iron it away, and it works a treat up here in the tropics, as it never gets cold enough to magically ‘reappear’ (unless I stick it in the freezer for a couple of hours).

Yesterday after work, I got back into it and started the stitchery component.

I was gobsmacked when I found I only had three of the ten DMC threads I needed…after all, my stash of DMC threads rivals my fabric stash!

So I think, later on today, I’ll have to go and search my Anchor threads and see if I can find some comparable ones…..

…..after I go and visit all the girls who joined  in with Chez on Friday night…..come join me for a trip?  You can drive!  Pop into Chez’s to find all the links to take you visiting.  Don’t forget to make yourself a cuppa……the girls will provide the goodies!

Your needleturn looks wonderful Wendy! And my floss stash is huge too, but I never have the right color, lol....love my Frixion pens too.

Love your Santa quilt Wendy. Looks great. I know what you mean about your threads. I went to get some the other day from my stash of 100's++ and didn't have it. I think I will have to get myself a new DMC colour chart so I can substitute olds for new. Might have to try for Cosmo ones I have also.

Looks like a nice design to work with. Isn't it frustrating that one can never find the correct colour threads despite having a stash big enough to sink a ship! It happens to me all the time-- threads, fabric, buttons etc.

Your Needle turn looks great..

I also use the Frixion pen BUT I have learnt to do a test on a corner of my fabric as it has sometimes gone white when ironed..Not good.... As it doesn't come out..

Hmm!! you have a few threads sew I am sure you will find a match...

Beautiful sewing!

I did spend the morning with so much stitchy eye candy it was almost ridiculous, but heavenly!

Such a lovely quilt with beautiful colours. I too have a huge DMC stash but yet had to buy more yesterday. I note that spotlight seem to be phasing out their DMC threads and bringing in semco. I'm not very happy about that. I've tried three different spotlights with the same story.

Love everything about that quilt Wendy... it's gorgeous. Bet you can't stop smiling when you work on it... it's so cute. Know what you mean about threads... I've a big stash too but amazingly I always need at least one I haven't got.... frustrating isn't it. Enjoy working on that quilt.....xxx

A very productive weekend Wendy. I too have a fairly large DMC thread stash which I've built up over the last 9 years. Unfortunately I'm finding with a couple I'm using at the moment that they are breaking really easily and I'm wondering if they are past their use by date. Do you have these issues at all? Cheers, Tracy.
