Last night was our Friday Night get-together with our ‘virtual’ friends over at Cheryll’s place and I must admit, I started pretty early. My plan this week was to finish the Christmas Blessings quilt so I could post it away and I was doing well, until I had to practice some ‘reverse stitching’ due to some hasty and somewhat cocky progress. (happens to all of us, doesn’t it?)
So Friday morning was sandwiching, pinning and quilting and I got to sewing the binding on just after lunch.
It’s always so satisfying sewing that last bit of binding down, don’t you think? Always gives me a real sense of achievement (now why then, can’t I apply this ‘knowledge’ to my huge long list of UFOs I wonder?)
This was also my January challenge on my list for the APQ 2015 UFO Challenge I mentioned in this post so I can tick this one off …. even if it was a week overdue, AND add it to my OPAM list for Jan/Feb! Double whammy!
It is now in the safe hands of Australia Post, winging its way to Natalie at The Birdhouse to live its life out as a shop sample. I’ve had a few people interested in purchasing the pattern. I suggest you Google ‘Christmas Blessings by Natalie Bird’, and you will get a few stores who stock them, then you can choose where you’d like to purchase it from. The ones I have seen are all really reputable and wonderful to purchase from (and yes, I have had experience with them all – shhhhh, don’t tell hubby!)
I then went on to stitching up some more of this gorgeous design of Jenny’s for her Stitchery Club Swap.
A little more to go and then I can make it into something I hope someone will love!
So that’s what I got up to…..come with me and visit all my friends and see what they got up to last night. Thanks Cheryll….it’s always terrific fun spending Friday nights with you. *mwah*
And before I forget, drop back here and leave me a comment and you’ll be entered into the draw to win two of my patterns in the Grow Your Blog 2015 Blog Hop.
Have a wonderful weekend. Big sugary hugs xox :o)

Don't you just hate it when you have to reverse sew when you just want it done now! Your finished quilt looks fabulous! Well done! Visiting from FNWF
Oh yes we sure do all do that... Lots fantastic finished Wendy...
The quilt looks wonderful-shame about the whoopsie but . .

I just adore that quilt. I didn't see anything wrong at first but after you moved those blocks I can see how much better it is with the big picture on top. Congrats on your finish!
Well done! Natalie will be thrilled with all the lovely work you put into that quilt. xxx
I just love this - the Tilda fabric makes it even more beautiful.
Oh dear... don't we hate reverse stitching.. but it has turned out just gorgeous! xxx

I love the quilt! I really don't like to take things apart and start over. I have one block that I keep trying to talk myself out of fixing. Hubs says he did not see the mistake but I know it is there.
The quilt has turned out so lovely :)
I love the colours you have used for Jenny's pocket of a posy ;)
A lovely little finish and your posies are looking very pretty. xx
Dear Wendy,
such a beautiful Christmas quilt, love the colors and setting. Congratulations on the finish.
Greetings,
Sylvia
Beautiful quilt and pretty stitching. You've had a fab (and productive) weekend
I love your beautiful quilt. I have a lot of experience at reverse stitching, I seem to do that more and more and I would think it would be less at my age. Congratulations on your finish.
Ripping anything is annoying, but fabric is the worst! I'm glad to see you had that sorted out and fixed :D
Gorgeous finish! I love binding too!
Your quilt is just gorgeous, Wendy.
Popular post, I see! =) Your finish is wonderful. I love the fabrics you used, and the design, too. Your Jenny embroidery looks great, as well. I'm sure it will become something well loved.
Beautiful! Ripping leads to more stitching....I mutter that through gritted teeth when I rip! lol
Wendy - you've done a gorgeous job of the design for Nat, I'm sure she'll be pleased with your work. Professional!
That is a really cute pattern and you did a wonderful job on it!!
Golly it is beautiful! Shame about the reverse stitching but I think we all do that at times.
