Hump day

"Hump Day" - nounNORTH AMERICANinformal
noun: hump day; plural noun: hump days
  1.    Wednesday, regarded as the the midpoint of a typical working week.

"it's hump day and perhaps the toughest day of the week for you"

tricks again.....blogger won't let me post in normal size font!!!! aaargh!    Please be patient.....the 'breathing' exercise is working to full capacity!

Maybe for some, but I love hump day.
Since the beginning of the year, Mr B has been working away from home during the week, on a cattle property and only comes home on the weekends, so we especially treasure the little time we have together.

We decided that, seeing as his work is about an hour west of us, on Wednesday afternoon, I would drive out to visit, we'd fill each other in on all that's been going on, enjoy a meal together and I'd stay till the next morning when he heads back into the yards, and I head off home.  Makes the time apart a little more bearable.

I haven't been for a few weeks due to a few things happening around here (which I WILL fill you in on later) and this morning really woke me up to the fact that I miss the Aussie bush - something I always took for granted.
We truly are blessed out here in rural Australia.  Here is what I woke up to this morning......

....a bright, clear, crisp sky with the glorious sun peeking its head up over the horizon.  It was a touch brisk, so I wore a light cardigan (another advantage to living in the tropical north of Queensland - our winters are P-E-R-F-E-C-T!).
Leaving for home about 6.30am I drove down the 'driveway'.  It must have taken me about 10 minutes more than usual as I couldn't help but stop for photos along the way....

A light fog, some happy cows, and scenery to die for......we truly are blessed to witness God's country in its entirety.   And if that isn't enough to be thankful for......

...the lagoon in all it's glory, hosting a pair of pelicans on the still, mirror-like waters.   I've been purposely taking time to 'breathe' lately, and this was just the perfect message to me....to stop and soak in the peacefulness of the country.  If you live in the city, this would definitely have to be a recommended health check....take time out to breathe in the country....there's nothing on earth like it.

I treasure my hump days.....can't wait for the next one.

  8. My aunt and uncle did the same thing for many years - she lived up north, he worked down here in the city, and he went home on weekends. It's hard! But they did credit it with keeping their marriage strong, lol. They were both pretty hard-headed. I'm glad you're able to visit mid-week, dear girl. Beautiful pictures.

Hi.....thanks for visiting and I'm glad you've stopped by to visit and leave me a comment. I'll try to reply each time, but if I don't, it's because I've been hijacked by the family.....know I've read it and it reeeeally warms my heart. *insert jiggly heart here*
