...and even though we may be miles apart, states apart, countries apart, continents apart.....we have that connection, even though we seem to be 'worlds' apart.....I think that's why I love our sew-ins so much. It doesn't matter who we are, what we look like, what we do, how we entertain ourselves whilst we enjoy our craft, there's no arguments or fisty-cuffs......we always feel the positive connections.....and, if I dare take a line from Mr Buble....... "I feel so good!"
So, what did I get up to whilst I was feeling these warm fuzzies???
a bit-o'-Stitching.........
A friend of mine had started the Girl's Day Out BOM but didn't feel like finishing it, so I offered to finish it for her. I've always wanted to do it, but missed it when it came out and well, you know how it goes...?
She had a few blocks started with some shapes fused on and some smaller stitchery blocks were finished along with a couple of the larger blocks.
Friday night I dug out the Antique shop block, which was half finished, and finished the stitcheries of the shelves inside the shop, as the rest was done. Then I began on the Cafe block, applique-ing the fused pieces and beginning the stitchery. I didn't get a huge amount done as I was exhausted and I think my body was feeling the foreboding wet weather we were due to have as every bone in my body ached (maybe it was the fact I'd worked all week and had to front up again on Saturday!?.....I'm just not used to it, that's for sure).
After work on Saturday and Federal Election training (I've been asked to work at the upcoming election), I got back into it with a glass of wine by my side....as the rain began to fall. Sunday was the perfect weather for stitchery with a steady downpour all day, so I did get a bit more done....not a lot because there was also a need to catch up on some sleep and rest my aching bones. But I'm happy with it's progress, all the same. I sure hope my friend likes how it's coming along. I can see this progressing further this week.
Have you had a chance to visit everyone to see what they got up to on Friday night? I haven't as yet, but I do plan to this week. Pop back to the sign up page and click on each link to see.....and don't forget to leave a comment, it's a real motivator each month!
I bet you're wondering who our lucky winner of our Tropical Dreamcatcher Batiks Charm pack is?
I consulted with Mr RNG (as he's always so reliable), and he drew this number out of the hat....
Congratulations
ANTHEA

Congrates Anthea and thank you Wendy for another great FNSI...
ReplyDeleteSuch lovely and truthful words Wendy. Congrats to Anthea too xx
ReplyDeleteYay for Anthea! I love this stitchery, too, and how lovely that you get to complete it for a friend. Mostly the hard part is done, and you are getting to do the fun part! I love the cafe block, especially. I didn't visit EVERY blog, but I went to quite a few of them.
ReplyDeleteGreat news for Anthea - lucky lady, I love that fabric. Thank you so much Wendy for organising us all when you are so overworked. I hope you soon have time to relax. Great work on the blocks for your friend. xx
ReplyDeleteLovely blocks Wendy! Ready to work today at the elections? I was a bit too late to sign up, I should have... oh well... going to head out into the cold to vote in a minute... xxx
